Child and Family Care Program

The Couchiching Child and Family Care Program focuses on the family as a while, assisting natural parents as well as social parents within the extended family to help themselves and each other to care for children as they have traditionally.

Giizhikaandag Healing Centre

The Giizhikaandag Healing Centre is a unique residential treatment program for male adolescent sex offenders. The vision of the program is to "break the cycle" of sexual abuse and teach young men to develop healthier lifestyles. Capable of housing 8 youth in a home-like environment, each of the services provided to clients is based on what is needed for their health and well being.

Toy Lending Library (in conjunction with AHBHC program)

The Couchiching Toy Lending Library works in conjunction with the AHBHC program to ensure healthy lifestyles for families with children ages 0-6. The Couchiching Toy Lending Library Drop-In Play & Learn session are offered throughout the week in a variety of formats and times. All Drop-ins are year round. Each Drop-In PLay & Learn session presents different features to enhance learning through play and to provide opportunities for families to get to know one another and share parenting experiences. The services provided are offered to families with children ages 0-6.
In December 2007 following discussions the need for outreach and support services for community members struggling with addictions to prescription drugs, street drugs and alcohol became evident. Consultation meetings were held with Education, Social Services and Health Programs. A common theme was expressed by the Couchiching staff that there is a definite need to develop and provide on addictions treatment program.
