The following types of vehicles and passengers are exempt from paying toll:

• All Emergency Vehicles, including but not limited to ambulances, fire, police, etc.
• School Busses

• Vehicles carrying a passenger that holds a Status Card. Both the status card and passenger must be present in the vehicle.

ATTENTION COUCHICIHNG BAND MEMBERS! AN EXEMPTION FORM DAY WILL BE HELD AT THE COUCHICHING MULTI-USE CENTRE THURSDAY, MAY 20TH, 2010. PHOTOCOPIERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR USE IF NEEDED. PLEASE TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO GET YOUR EXEMPTION STICKER BEFORE THE TOLL BOOTH INITIATIVE COMMENCES.


Vehicles are exempt from Couchiching Toll Booth Fees under the following circumstances:

1) The vehicle includes a passenger with a Status Card. The Status Card must be made available and belong to a passenger. This exemption does not apply to commercial vehicles.

and/or

2) The vehicle has a Couchiching Toll Booth Initiative sticker fixed to the windshield. To apply for an exemption sticker you must be a Couchiching First Nation Band Member. Sticker exemptions are available for:
• A Band Member’s non-Status spouse or common-law partner
• Non-Status children of Couchiching Band Members

Please note: Stickers must be affixed to your vehicle and visible to Toll Booth attendants. Stickers are designed for windows, but applicant may apply to visors as well.

First Nations Businesses:

First Nations businesses wishing to apply for exemption on commercial vehicles may do so in writing to Couchiching Chief and Council. Commercial vehicles must pay toll while application is pending. The business must clearly explain business operations, and explain what makes them a First Nations business. Applicants must continue to pay toll while application is pending.
